Spring Downloader

Installation

• If you don't auto-update your Windows XP, you need either Microsoft .NET 2.0 or newer - get it  here
• Download and run  http://files.caspring.org/caupdater/SpringDownloader.exe - you can put it anywhere, for example to your Spring folder.

Linux

• wget  http://files.caspring.org/caupdater/SpringDownloader.exe
• sudo aptitude install mono libmono-winforms2.0-cil
• mono SpringDownloader.exe

Lobby integration

• Spring downloader is now external part of lobby client TasClient - you can get latest version of tasclient from here  http://tasclient.licho.eu/TASClientLatest.7z - it auto downloads maps and mods as you try joining games.

Spring Downloader Features

• Downloads maps and mods, optionally for current or hosted games
• Uses torrent system and/or existing spring websites with multiple parts simultaneous download to get the file
• Optionally seeds rare maps/mods for other people when they need them
• Optionally integrates with teamspeak system (sends team setup when game starts, so that you can be put into teamspeak rooms with your allies)
• Optionally sends mod error to developers
• Self upgrades

Rapid modules manager

• allows you to pick packages to install and keeps them up-to-date automatically
• content is shared between packages and updates are incremental (wont redownload whole mod again)

Widget Manager module

• Browse an online widget catalogue
• Install/Remove widgets
• Update your widgets

Games module

• shows list of games with browser to their homepage
• allows to start QuickMatching? - finds game you want and starts it for you

Alerter module

• alerts you when game matching your specifications becomes available (does not need lobby account)

Chat module

• Basic chat for joined channels and joined battle (of quickmatching)

Missions Module (off until missions fixed)

• Play and rate missions created by users with the MissionEditor
• Download the required map and mod with one clic

CA module (obsolete)

• now obsolete, shows CA changelog and poll
