  • Saktoth: What? These games dont have lots of distinctive designs and dont fit arm...

Geometry: Smooth flowing armour plates with a ceramic feel covering high-tech machine components. Shapes should be generally curvilinear.

Textures: Blue metals for machine components. Beige ceramic-style armour plates, or a light-blue plastic feeling armour ala spherebot?

Storyline: An expeditiary deep-strike infiltration force operating behind the lines of an enemy long since destroyed. Strong belief in the purity of form and the perfection of design. A belief that they are closer in form to their creators (more humanoid/organic in appearance). Relies on elegant, oblique tactics and approaches, information warfare.

Keywords: yin, subtlety, agility, style

Unit naming: uses allegoric names, prefers "living" things, natural phenomena, name should evoke purpose of the unit intuitively - zeus, panther, bulldog, flash, thunder, even peewee (feels wimpy but does not describe anything directly)

Core

Inspirations: Germanic knights, ww1, ww2, cold war. Industrial-eque. A slight touch of steampunk (not true steampunk, just a mechanical motif). Careful to avoid looking like Warhammer 40k Space Marines, a distinct style is needed.

Geometry: Metal plates, squared off, armoured look. Sleeker designs (raiders, planes) should be triangular. Use curves sparingly where appropriate (Ravager for instance).

Textures: Metals, bolts, rust, scratches, browns, blacks, greys.
It may be prudent to follow Mr.D's models, and let it dictate our stylistic direction for core. Thus, dark green with areas of grey would be a strong component.

Storyline: A heavily armed and armoured legion charged with the defense and prosperity of a long dead empire. Strong belief in the purity and perfection of 'the code', a quasi-religious term and a euphemism for machine code, for machine thought. Emphasis on logic, and strategic/tactical maxims. Dogmatic. Relies on effective, direct tactics and approaches, damage minimization and contingency.

Keywords: yang, industry, strength, logic

Unit naming: uses plain names that describe action or purpose or form - ravager, reaper, pyro, sumo, A.K. - assault kbot, even instigator. Not sure if it can be used for all units though. In general, names should be more "aggressive" than Nova ones.
