Benefits:

  • less exceptions: (no boost, no commander income, no confusion between normal and dgun commander, no confusion when trying to use dgun)
  • less problems on small maps (no more HLT rushing)

Impacts:

  • slightly slower start
  • early energy much more important target
  • dgun pushing slightly more likely - but not very, at 500 storage you can dgun just 1x and hlt or couple rockos can still kill commander easilly

D-Gun is only a problem for BA/OTA players. If there is confusion between the coms, we can edit the model in the future (Should be easy to duplicate the core commanders arms so they are identical until d-gun, actually).

The commanders resource income is -very- significant. Without it, you will stall very badly, and need 245 more starting metal to make up for it with solars. He is also an extra mex, enough to bump players over the mere +6 required to run their factory.

The problem with more starting resources is, of course, the rush potential: The com having it means it cant be spelt elsewhere. A limited resource-only boost may help with this.

I like facplop (though its too instant), and dislike the exploitability of boost, but cant vote for this proposal as a package (Or even without d-gun).
