Doesn't this have a lot of the downsides of 1-faction(clashing models) without some of the upsides(extra factories, more interesting units, even less models)?

Maybe, but: IP free has some priority. 1 faction is neither actively developed nor tested in game - seems dead. So atm removing IP is currently only possible with CA.

Just because something hasn't been worked on for a week makes it dead? 1-faction has a whole page stating exactly what goes where. Implementing it would take a short amount of time. I don't see much point doing any of these IP-Free pushes until we can push to actually IP free, this mainly requires factory models.
