Balance (#2) - Shotgun Leveler (#89) - Message List
In the past few revisions I've introduced a non-buildable Leveler II (corlevlr2), which is armed with a shotgun-like weapon instead of the BA-style riot cannon. The main purpose of this change is to try to solve the self-pwn problem without using special damages. Although self-pwn can still occur, the minimum range for this is reduced greatly due to each pellet having a smaller splash range than the original single shell. Obviously the shotgun effect changes the performance of the Leveler greatly in ways that may or may not be desirable.
I would like to know what you all think of the Leveler II.

We've experimented with plasma shotguns on the warrior, they didnt work.
A large majority of the levelers shots hit the ground, not the target. The amount of impulse that the target is hit with is mostly luck, impulse is trick to begin with but with all these explosions going on around the unit it can do some whacky things.
A slight scatter shot with a lower AoE might be alright (maybe 3 projectiles), but this sort of massive sawn-off-shotgun effect isnt appropriate, imo.
