Licensing Policy

What exactly is our policy on licensing?

All our LuaUI/LuaRules/LuaCob code is GPL. The CEG textures are sorted in folders by license. For the s3o models you need to follow the links to the release threads in the credits page.

In general, we're happy if anybody uses our mod as a starting point for his mod.

Mmm, in fact we encourage people to work from our mod, we enjoy seeing our work being popularized and it means we can take any improvements they make on our work.

What about all our fbi/tdf (now lua)?

Its based prettymuch on OTA, but i think most of its been changed enough now (esp since its lua) that we can think about licence.

Anything submitted through SVN that belongs to you unless specified otherwise is assumed to be GPL. We should probably note that somewhere, that when you're making a contribution unless you specify otherwise, that you're GPL'ing it.

We might want to use CC in general for our graphics though, as i think its more suited, easier to understand, and more compatible with other licences? GPL is more for code. It might be easier, though, if as much as the mod as possible is under the same license.

AFAIK whole mod is supposed to be GPL - it is GPL but its currently violating some Atari IP rights probably.
